Berge Veterinary Consulting provide expertise and scientific support on epidemiology, bacteriology, clinical trials, food animal health and welfare, nutritional approaches to improve productivity, Salmonella and E. coli and antimicrobial resistance.
Dr. Berge’s mission is to improve animal welfare and health, while protecting public health. She is equally competent to work on national and industrial level as on farm level.
Anna Catharina (Cat) Berge is a Swedish veterinarian with expertise in food animal production, Salmonella, E. coli, antimicrobial resistance, epidemiology and public health.
She has experience in large animal practice, veterinary animal and public health legislation, public health and scientific research.
Dr. Berge’s has worked in veterinary policy and legislation in Sweden and at the European Commission covering areas ranging from animal disease control in trade, BSE, residue and drug control to Salmonella control and product traceability.
During her masters in preventive veterinary medicine and her PhD in comparative pathology (UC Davis, USA) she performed extensive research on Salmonella, Escherichia coli and antimicrobial resistance in food animal production and alternatives to antibiotics to protect animal health.
She is currently guest professor at the Veterinary Epidemiology Unit at Ghent University, licensed veterinarian in Sweden and Belgium, and an independent consultant.
